The Fizik Arione R3 Versus Evo Saddle is identical in almost every way to the high-zoot R1 version. There’s only one difference. The rails. These feature alloy Kium rails for durability and savings. As you know, the Arione shape is one of the post popular in cycling. Long and flat, most seem to find a comfy spot to sit. Fizik has taken the R1 version and added a channel the length of the saddle to give comfort to those who love the seat but desire substantial pressure relief. The saddle shape is the longest and narrowest in the Fizik lineup, 299mm long by 130mm wide in Regular and 298 x 142mm in Large. It always had a good bit of comfort thanks to the Wing Flex design of the sides. The R1 designation is their lightest iteration, with 7x9mm carbon braided rails for light weight and carbon-reinforced nylon composite shell. Fizik has a unique fit system, the Spine Concept, and they peg this shape as perfect for riders who they deem as snakes: very flexible, as in can easily touch toes, and very little pelvic rotation. The designation is merely a guide, of course, and if you have a liking for flat saddles, this is one to take a seat on. The rest of the saddle is built as you’d expect from Fizik. They cover the shell, save the channel, with comfort core foam. Then they cover the foam with Microtex, a tough, light, weather-resistant synthetic leather. The Fizik logo in back covers their integrated clip system for lights and bags. Weight for the Fizik Arione R3 Versus Evo Regular Saddle is 225g.
