This backpack is equipped with an avalanche airbag and offers maximum safety on tours beyond prepared slopes. Since the back part is slightly shorter, the Free Rider 20 S is especially suitable for women and small persons. Due to the multi-layer back system this backpack also provides a TÜV certified back protector and a comfortable cushioning. For the combination of flexible cushioned pads and a directly integrated solid protector plate makes for best wearing comfort with highest protection! The backpack remains safely on the back, since the preformed waist belt fits tightly on the body thus preventing the backpack from swinging during daring downhill tours.The Free Rider 20 S is equipped with easily accessible compartments allowing for a quick access when you need something (also with gloves): a hip belt pocket for a bar and mobile phone, a LVS front pocket for the safety equipment and a large main compartment with light inner lining for a clear arrangement.Integrated in the back part is the release unit including airbag (no cartridge) so that the backpack really has an effective volume of 20 l. Avabag is one of the lightest airbag systems and hardly requires any space. This unit can be used also with other Ortovox avalanche backpacks (e. g. larger models for multi-day tours).
